Professor Janet Mifsud is a member of the Department of Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics, University of Malta and Visiting Research Fellow, Institute of Neurology, University College London. Her area of expertise is in the pharmacology of drugs used in epilepsy. She was formerly Vice-President (Europe) International Bureau for Epilepsy and has been invited expert evaluator for several EU funded research programmes. She co-ordinates pharmacology study units including the Prescribing Safety Assessment at the University of Malta, which was the first non UK/Irish University to undertake this assessment. She is a Fulbright Scholar and is involved in several EU wide research projects. She sits on several National Committees such as the President’s Foundation for Social Well Being; was the First Commissioner, National Commission for the Promotion of Equality and also board member of the Malta Council for Science and Technology. She has published extensively in her area of expertise.
